A post written by a LinkedIn member on why most of us can't land a job.
If you are struggling to find a job, STOP making these 7 common mistakes!
One reader responded with her own version (responses are in black and in bold) to each of these common mistakes (see below); which brings up good points in terms of how the applicant feels about them.
1. Stop applying only to “quick apply” jobs. <<<<<<<<<<<< Give people a new way to apply.
2. Stop using an outdated resume. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Resumes are the salad to steak that is coming.
3. Stop not skipping the cover letter. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Outdated. Start viewing online content. (Agreed 100%)
4. Stop being rude. Send thank you emails. <<<<<<<<<<<< Likewise, it is not just your time.
5. Stop attending interviews unprepared.<<<<<<<<<<<<<< This would be the people that did not read the candidate's resume. not the hours someone forked over to the application process.
6. Stop being so concerned about titles. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Stop putting numbers after them( i.e Manager, Sr. Manager, Technician I, Technician IV)
7. Stop limiting yourself to one location. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Start paying for relocation.
